PSHE Power Hour Founder

 Welcome to PSHE Power Hour. I'm Lucy Hair, and my mission is to revolutionize the perception and delivery of PSHE education in Secondary Schools.

Drawing on my experience as the Head of PSHE across various Secondary School environments, I have witnessed the challenges of re-engaging students in a PSHE curriculum that fails to meet their needs, lacks relevance, or repeats topics without addressing key issues.

Within my sessions I look to quickly establish trust, deliver with integrity and humour, while ultimately empowering the individuals in the room to explore the topic at hand in an honest and meaningful manner.

By fostering an environment of acceptance, respect, empathy, and accountability, coupled with the use of humour and thought-provoking questions, I guide students to consider new ideas, perspectives, and narratives, expanding the horizons of their own thoughts and beliefs. 

My core goal is the empower the people behind the curriculum; the students, the teachers, and the parents/guardians, and ease the problems they may face with respect to the content within the PSHE curriculum. 

• Teachers -  The teaching resources prioritize content delivery with comprehensive guides, professional development support, and interactive elements to enhance student engagement and focus during lessons.

• Students -  If students exhibit curiosity, they are actively engaged, alert, and responsive to their environment. The PSHE Power Hours aim to stimulate students to delve further and scrutinize the "facts" influencing their decision-making process by employing innovative teaching methods and interactive activities. 

• Parents/Guardians -  Supporting parents and guardians to enhance their understanding of fundamental subjects within the PSHE curriculum. This includes providing guidance to parents and guardians on how to best engage in constructive conversations with young individuals regarding these subjects in an informed and approachable manner.
